Neither Zobayda nor Zaima have any social media accounts: Rizvi
Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said that Zobaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman or their daughter Zaima Rahman, has 'no account' on any social media platform, including Facebook, Instagram.
BNP has also alleged that 'a vested interest group' is spreading fake information using the names of Tariq Rahman's wife and daughter. Along with this, the party has also called on no one to associate with the 'fake ID and page' created in the name of these two.
A press release signed by Zahir Uddin Swapan, Convener of BNP's media cell, said, "Party acting Chairman Tariq Rahman's wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman and her daughter, barrister Zaima Rahman, do not use social media. There is no account or page in their name on social media and digital platforms like Facebook, X (Ex Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal etc.
BNP has also alleged that a vested interest group is creating 'fake IDs and pages' in the name of these two and spreading various 'manipulative, distorted and fabricated' information.
The circular says, "On behalf of this family, all concerned individuals, organizations and institutions are urged not to be confused in this matter. Apart from this, it is also being asked to report these fake IDs and pages to the respective social media to stop them.
According to the press release, there is a verified ID on Facebook and a verified handle on micro-blogging site X in the name of BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman, apart from that, there is no ID or page of Tareq Rahman anywhere else on social media.
